LITTLE WORLD ATLAS

Privacy Policy

Last updated: 28 October 2026

Little World Atlas lets you explore without an account. This policy explains what the app stores, when your device connects to external services, and what happens when you visit this website or send us a message.

1. Data controller

The app’s developer and controller of personal data provided in correspondence is Piotr Truszkowski. For support and privacy questions, contact contact@littleworldatlas.kids.

2. Data in the app

The current version has no registration, profiles, ads, advertising tracking or developer-added analytics. There are no forms for uploading your own photos, messages or content. We do not ask for your name, age or email address to use the app.

The app initially uses your device’s preferred language, with English as the fallback for unsupported languages. It does not determine your physical location. A language you select manually is stored locally on the device and is not sent to a developer server. App data may be included in system backups depending on your Apple settings. Deleting the app removes its local data; backups are managed separately in your device settings.

The app does not request access to your location, camera, microphone, contacts or photo library. Map coordinates refer to the places described, not to the user’s location.

3. Apple satellite maps

The satellite view connects to Apple Maps. Delivering maps requires network communication and may involve processing technical information about the device, connection and map area being viewed. This does not mean that Little World Atlas retrieves your location. See Apple Maps & Privacy for details.

4. Photos and narration

Included photographs, illustrations and descriptions are bundled with the app. Viewing these photographs does not require downloading them from Wikipedia or Wikimedia Commons. Source and author information remains available in the app.

Narration recordings were prepared in advance using ElevenLabs and are bundled with the app. Playing them does not send the user’s text or voice to ElevenLabs. If a recording is unavailable for a particular item, the app may use Apple’s system text-to-speech. The app does not record your voice.

5. Children

The app is designed for children and caregivers to explore together. We do not knowingly collect children’s personal data through the app interface or create profiles of children. Please do not include a child’s personal data in support requests. If such data is sent and is unnecessary, you can ask for it to be deleted.

6. Contact and support requests

Sending an email provides your address, message and any attachments. We use these to respond to and handle your request. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR), or, where needed for matters relating to performance of a contract, Article 6(1)(b) GDPR.

We keep correspondence for as long as necessary to resolve the matter, and afterwards only where a legal obligation or the establishment or defence of legal claims requires it. Additional details are not required, but without a contact address we cannot reply.

We use an email service provider to handle correspondence.

7. This website

The website has no registration form, ads, marketing pixels or developer-added analytics tools. Graphics and fonts do not require connections to external advertising services. We do not set our own cookies to track visits.

The website is hosted through Sites (OpenAI) on Cloudflare infrastructure. Infrastructure providers may process IP addresses, browser information and technical request logs to deliver the website, prevent abuse and investigate errors. The private preview may require signing in to the hosting platform and its session cookies. This is not an account in the Little World Atlas app.

Processing necessary for operation and security is based on a legitimate interest (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR). Retention of infrastructure data and possible international transfers depend on the hosting services’ terms. More information: OpenAI and Cloudflare.

8. Apple, the App Store and TestFlight

App downloads, optional in-app purchases, system diagnostic reports and participation in TestFlight are subject to Apple’s settings and terms. Apple handles purchases; the developer does not receive payment card details. Apple may provide the developer with testing, crash and feedback information. This is not a separate system for tracking activity in the atlas. See Apple’s Privacy Policy.

9. Your rights

Where we process personal data and the relevant legal conditions apply, you can request access, correction, deletion, restriction of processing and data portability. You may object to processing based on legitimate interests. We do not make automated decisions with legal effects or create user profiles.

For questions about data sent to the developer, contact us by email. You may also complain to the President of Poland’s Personal Data Protection Office (UODO) or your competent supervisory authority. For data processed independently by Apple or other providers, use their contact options as well.

10. Changes

If changes to the app or website affect privacy, we will update this policy and the date at the top of the page.
